Kevin Parker has delivered a second glimpse into Tame Impala’s exciting new chapter with the release of the track ‘Loser,’ which comes with a video featuring a (very) recognizable face. Following his aptly titled recent single ‘End Of Summer’—which marked the psych band leader's first solo release in two years—‘Loser’ offers a similarly captivating experience, blending Parker’s signature vocals with subtle grooves and warm, dreamy textures. This track serves as the second preview of his upcoming album ‘Deadbeat,’ scheduled for release on October 17 through Columbia, marking a five-year gap since the last album, ‘The Slow Rush’ (2020).
In the visual for ‘Loser,’ we follow the song’s namesake character, portrayed by none other than Joe Keery (also known as Djo), an actor from Stranger Things and the cover star of DIY's April 2025 issue, as he reflects on life from a corner shop curb. Beyond being a humorous portrayal of a down-on-his-luck boyfriend, fans have noted that the video represents a heartwarming full-circle moment, given that Keery has previously mentioned Tame Impala as a major musical influence. You can watch it below.
The 35-date tour will have the band visiting cities throughout the UK, Europe, and Australia.
The all-day event is scheduled to make a comeback to locations throughout the city this October.
To celebrate the announcement, she has also released the record's ethereal lead single 'Lose It Again'.
These will be the band's first live performances in seven years.
“Is a Facebook poke still popular a decade later?”
This news comes on the heels of the release of the new single "Loser," which has a video featuring Joe Keery.
