Disgusting Sisters have released their latest single ‘TGIF’.
Though they are real sisters—likely not actually disgusting—the duo is founded on the sibling creativity of Jules and Josie, two artists who grew up between London and France.
Their debut single ‘Killing It’ was launched last year through the independent label Speedy Wunderground, after which Disgusting Sisters hit the road supporting Two Door Cinema Club.
The new single ‘TGIF’ arrives just in time for the weekend, offering a sophisticated avant-pop sound that evokes a hint of the 2000s.
With a delightfully rebellious spirit, ‘TGIF’ seeks to break free from the monotonous Monday to Friday grind.
Incredibly catchy, the duo describes the single as follows…
‘TGIF’ tells the story of someone trapped in a soul-sucking 9-to-5 job, going through the same tedious routine each week. When Friday finally comes, they’re so exhausted that they transform into a different persona—drinking, partying, and blacking out, much like a werewolf during a full moon. It's a wild and chaotic experience, but beneath it all lies a subdued sadness: this reckless escape is their only way of feeling alive…
