2026 MOBO Awards To Be Held In Manchester For Their 30th Anniversary

The MOBO Awards, the largest and most significant celebration of Black music and culture in Europe, is set to be held in Manchester for the first time as part of the MOBO Organisation's 30th anniversary festivities.

Scheduled for Thursday, 26 March 2026, and taking place live from Co-op Live, the UK's newest and biggest live entertainment venue, this special edition of the Awards is sure to offer an unforgettable evening filled with thrilling performances, heartfelt tributes, and impactful cultural moments.

Since 2009, the MOBO Awards has made a name for itself by bringing its celebrations to various cities across the UK, highlighting Black music and culture while supporting local talent and communities. From London to Liverpool, Leeds to Glasgow, Coventry to Sheffield, and Newcastle, MOBO has transformed cities, venues, and arenas into cultural hubs.

As the MOBO Organisation embarks on its 30th anniversary, it is excited to bring the MOBO experience to Manchester, a city renowned worldwide for its rich musical heritage, creativity, and cultural significance.

In anticipation of the ceremony, MOBO is partnering with Manchester City Council to present the MOBO Fringe Festival, a week-long celebration of music, culture, and creativity leading up to the Awards. This free event will include industry panels, talent showcases, live performances, and creative workshops across music, technology, and the arts.

The MOBO Fringe Festival plays a crucial role in the MOBO Organisation’s ongoing dedication to celebrating music, arts, and culture while uplifting local creators. Following the success of the MOBO Fringe 2025 in Newcastle, which attracted thousands and generated over £1 million in economic and social impact for the city and surrounding North East, the upcoming festival aims to energize the city, empower communities, and inspire audiences across the country. Kanya King CBE, Founder and CEO of MOBO Group, stated:

“For 30 years, MOBO has represented more than just an awards show – it has been a movement that shapes culture, champions creativity, and opens pathways for generations of talent. This milestone serves as a reminder that celebrating culture not only preserves history but also shapes the future. Three decades later, the MOBO Awards continue to be a powerful testament to how music can inspire, unite, and change lives. Manchester has always been a hub of music and innovation, and together with MOBO, we will craft the next chapter of cultural history.”

In February, the 2025 MOBO Awards were hosted in Newcastle by Eddie Kadi and Indiyah Polack. Bashy received the Album of The Year and Best Hip-Hop Act awards, while special recognitions were given to Vybz Kartel, who received the MOBO Impact Award, and Dame Denise Lewis DBE, who was awarded the MOBO Paving The Way Award.

Fans can register now at mobo.com/awards to receive the latest updates and priority access when tickets become available in December.
