Gorillaz will launch their new album ‘The Mountain’ on March 20th.
The band recently concluded an extensive residency at London’s Copperbox Arena, ending with a series of unique live performances.
The new album ‘The Mountain’ comes right after those concerts. Scheduled for release on March 20th, it was crafted by Gorillaz, along with James Ford, Samuel Egglenton, Remi Kabaka Jr., and Bizarrap (from Orange County).
Recording took place primarily at London’s Studio 13, with sessions alternating between the city and the rural Devon area, while also incorporating sites in Mumbai, New Delhi, Rajasthan, and Varanasi, along with Ashgabat, Damascus, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York.
March 20th will also see Gorillaz embark on a full tour, highlighted by a significant performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 20th.
As usual, the album features a wide array of collaborators, including renowned names such as Ajay Prasanna, Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash, Anoushka Shankar, Asha Bhosle, Asha Puthli, Bizarrap, Black Thought, Gruff Rhys, IDLES, Jalen Ngonda, Johnny Marr, Kara Jackson, Omar Souleyman, Paul Simonon, Sparks, Trueno, and Yasiin Bey.
