Yumi Zouma Announces New Album ‘No Love Lost To Kindness’

Yumi Zouma is set to release their new album ‘No Love Lost To Kindness’ on January 30th.

The band used their time in Mexico City between tours to write new material whenever possible. Consequently, the songs in Yumi Zouma’s upcoming album embody their interests and the personal growth experienced by each member.

Scheduled for release on June 30th, ‘No Love Lost To Kindness’ broadens the group's foundational dichotomy, integrating sounds from their 90s upbringing along the way. The band states:

“We aimed for the track to feel like it’s slowly revolting in sludge before unleashing the most anthemic chorus at full volume. Hooks inspired by a 1998 issue of Smash Hits are layered with samples and industrial synth arpeggios reminiscent of the absent soundtrack for a crossover prequel to RoboCop and The Fifth Element, featuring bands like Silverchair, Shihad, Garbage, Stellar*, Evanescence, and Placebo.”

The new single ‘Drag’ conveys a deeply personal message from frontwoman Christie Simpson, who was diagnosed with ADHD and embarked on a journey of self-exploration in its wake.

      Christie Simpson shares her thoughts:

“For months, I felt an overwhelming mix of grief, joy, frustration, acceptance, relief, and struggle. Life didn’t always become easier after the diagnosis—often it felt even more challenging, even now. This song is a message to my inner child and an expression of acceptance. It’s a farewell to the life I spent for so long ‘inside the drag.’ It’s about freeing myself from the struggle—about letting go.”
