Brighton's Kitchen Lover Releases Their Debut Album ‘The Circus Sideshow Dream’

The garage punk band Kitchen Lover from Brighton has made a significant impact with their explosive debut album ‘The Circus Sideshow Dream.’

This garage punk group has stirred things up on the south coast, taking their intense live performances across the country. They've supported acts like Getdown Services, Frankie And The Witch Fingers, and Toya Delazy among others, delivering a fiery interpretation of garage punk that is undeniably ear-shattering.

Teaming up with esteemed producer Erik Miles, Kitchen Lover has completed their debut album, which purposefully mirrors their live energy.

Available now, ‘The Circus Sideshow Dream’ is an exhilarating mix of sounds, merging various concepts and drawing upon bohemian influences.

      The band describes it as...

‘The Circus Sideshow Dream’ comprises distorted tales from the challenging circus environment most of us ‘artists’ navigate. One moment you might feel like Jim Morrison at the Hollywood Bowl in ’68, basking in the cheers of 20,000 fans. The next, you're Ray Heffernan in a dimly lit Irish pub, struggling to convince yourself—and anyone who’s listening—that you’ve penned a decent song, questioning whether self-destruction might be the only encore.

It offers a commentary on the harsh peaks and valleys, the madness we willingly confront—for the sake of art, expression, and that ever-elusive sense of acknowledgment.

The lead single ‘Speaking Tongues’ emerged as a true anthem, reminiscent of a mix between Black Lips and XTC. Kitchen Lover just held a special album launch show in Brighton over the weekend and is set to perform at the Shacklewell Arms in London on September 30th.
