British artist Joshua Idehen, now based in Stockholm, will unveil his upcoming album, ‘I Know You’re Hurting, Everyone Is Hurting, Everyone Is Trying, You Have Got To Try,’ on March 6th, 2026.
This marks Joshua's debut with Heavenly Recordings, created in collaboration with musician Ludvig Parment following a series of personal challenges, including a divorce and mental health issues.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, his relocation to Stockholm provided him the opportunity to reflect and start fresh. This new chapter gave rise to ‘I Know You’re Hurting, Everyone Is Hurting, Everyone Is Trying, You Have Got To Try,’ an album that serves as a cathartic and euphoric exploration of themes like grief, joy, and healing.
The album offers a comforting sound for those feeling fatigued, blending house-inspired beats, choral elements, and lyrical reflections on hope, self-worth, and collective strength.
Alongside the album announcement is the empowering anthem ‘It Always Was,’ which features a split-screen video directed by Jonny Sanders.
Regarding the single, Joshua shares:
“The song embodies a moment of optimism from my past: I had a close group of friends, and we’d cram into a Mazda to cruise around London, attempt to get into bars, and eventually find ourselves sitting on a bench as the sun rose. One night, we pumped each other up, and after a friend, Benji, transitioned from McDonald’s to finance, we all started discussing our five-year plans. By morning, a friend named Martin remarked, ‘what’s meant for me will find me anyway,’ and that phrase has resonated with me for over a decade.”
Having recently headlined multiple sold-out shows at the Jazz Café in London, Joshua has announced a UK and EU headline tour scheduled for next spring, along with a series of support performances for Baxter Dury. His solo tour will see him performing in London, Cambridge, Leeds, and other locations from March to May of next year.
