Sharp indie rock from the Australian artist...
Courtney Barnett has released a new single titled ‘Stay In Your Lane.’
The Australian songwriter has been gradually hinting at her return by performing a series of low-key, highly intimate live shows. As she re-enters the public eye, Courtney Barnett has also been concentrating on producing a steady stream of new material.
Available now, ‘Stay In Your Lane’ captures the raw energy of live performance, while showcasing the poetic sensibility that has become her trademark.
Building up to that powerful release moment in the chorus, she repeats: “Gotta get this off my chest / This never would’ve happened if I stayed in my lane, stayed the same way.”
The track is accompanied by a graphic video, featuring injuries, fake blood, and much more.
Created by filmmaker Alex Ross Perry (Pavements), Courtney Barnett is set to perform ‘Stay In Your Lane’ on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon next week.
