As one of the most iconic alternative artists of her era, Hayley Williams has experienced it all. Fronting Paramore on the Eras tour at the invitation of Taylor Swift, the band found themselves performing for some of their largest audiences ever.
However, a different feeling was stirring within her. With the expiration of the band’s long-standing record deal, Hayley Williams found herself enjoying true independence for the first time, affording her the opportunity to reflect on the experiences that have shaped and complicated her life over the past twenty years.
Back in her Nashville home, an outpouring of powerful music emerged, flowing with relentless creativity. Defying industry conventions, her new solo album ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’ is nothing short of extraordinary - deeply personal and endlessly innovative, it may well be her most intimate and direct work to date.
CLASH engaged Hayley Williams in an insightful cover interview, where she discussed how the constant spotlight led her to shed aspects of her femininity and how, for the first time, she is ready to prioritize her own needs.
As she expresses: “Creating this felt like a return to my roots… revisiting what initially drew me to music.”
