Connie Constance has unveiled her new single, "The Offering."
Released through Jump The Fence, the track encapsulates many elements that define her distinctive style – blending soul-pop influences with electronic production, Connie’s lyrics navigate the themes of her background and her aspirations.
Crafted during strolls in Queen’s Wood in Highgate, London, the song fuses West African drum sounds and folk elements with captivating electronic beats reminiscent of Kate Bush or early HAIM.
The lyrics explore feminine empowerment, incorporating the Yoruba term “Alafia,” which translates to peace.
Collaboratively written with Dan Rothman (of London Grammar), SOHN, and Theo Hutchinson, the track embraces her feminine essence.
“This woman that I am, who encompasses uncertainties, insecurities, strengths, intellect at times, and silliness more often, is my offering,” she expresses. “I will not hold back for anyone except for my own desires.”
“Women experience significant transformations throughout our lives, and each moment feels just as powerful as the last,” she reflects. “I hope this song can create a space where listeners feel recognized and not isolated.”
