Romy has released her new single ‘Love Who You Love’.
After her stunning solo album ‘Mid Air’ in 2023, CLASH interviewed Romy in Ibiza to delve deeper into this phase of her life.
She has since put out a series of singles, with ‘Love Who You Love’ marking the conclusion of this chapter for Romy.
Available now, ‘Love Who You Love’ has been in development for quite a while, with Romy dedicating extensive hours to perfecting the track.
Radiating joyous, house-influenced euphoria, ‘Love Who You Love’ stands as a tribute to queer identity, celebrating visibility.
The single was produced by BloodPop, Romy, and Jamie xx, while the accompanying video features Romy, directed by her partner in creativity and life, Vic Lentaigne.

My new track ‘Love Who You Love’ is a proudly queer love anthem. It was crucial for me to recognize that the world remains a difficult place for so many of us in the LGBTQ+ community to express our love openly. In response to that, I wanted to create a song that not only celebrates and elevates love but also calls for change. The community's history of resilience and unity in the face of immense challenges is incredibly powerful.
On a personal level, connecting with friends, family, and role models through queer clubbing has significantly alleviated my feelings of isolation and empowered me in many areas of my life. These interactions and the individuals I've encountered continue to inspire the music I'm creating, and this song aims to be a love letter celebrating visibility and pride. The love you carry within is yours and cannot be taken away.
