The full-length album 'SweetFace Killah,' featuring 12 tracks, is set to be released on December 5th.
Today, Infinite Coles, an artist hailing from NYC, has unveiled his new single ‘DMs’ in anticipation of his debut album, ‘SweetFace Killah,’ coming out on December 5th through Don’t Sleep/PIAS.
‘DMs’ is a polished blend of Afro and Bitch house influences, crafted as a life-affirming anthem perfect for the club scene.
Regarding the single, Infinite shares: “‘DMs’ is my way of telling all the detractors in my DMs to SHUT UP!!! People assume they can wound me with their words from a distance, but they’re mistaken. I receive at least five negative messages daily, with some telling me to kill myself or claiming my dad doesn’t love me, so I transformed those feelings into this song, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out.”
This track follows the double single ‘SweetFaceKillah’ / ‘Dad & I,’ which delved into the complex emotions surrounding Infinite’s relationship with his estranged father, the legendary rap figure Ghostface Killah from Wu-Tang Clan.
In his debut album, Infinite expresses himself authentically and joyfully as a queer Black American, collaborating with producer Zach Witness (known for his work with Doechii, Frank Ocean, and Erykah Badu) while tapping into his strong connection to the vibrant Vogue-Ballroom culture and identity. Zach Witness remarks: “The upcoming album will serve as a powerful statement against the outdated homophobic notions in Wu. A queer son of one of Hip Hop’s most anti-LGBTQ figures certainly has something to share, and he is doing it boldly. What an honor to help bring this to life. Infinite Coles is not to be dismissed!”
Stay tuned.
