K-pop sensation ITZY is back with their latest EP, ‘TUNNEL VISION’, marking a new chapter for the group.
In this EP, the five-member girl group—Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna—demonstrates their evolution as artists and embraces a more mature sound by exploring diverse styles and genres like UK Garage and Afrobeats.
‘TUNNEL VISION’ concludes a significant year for ITZY, which also saw the release of the albums ‘Collector’ and ‘Girls Will Be Girls,’ along with Yeji’s solo project ‘AIR,’ the first from any member of ITZY.
ITZY shows no intention of slowing down, eagerly building momentum for 2026 as they tease new music and have recently revealed plans for their third world tour set for early next year, with full tour date details to be announced later.

In what way does ‘TUNNEL VISION’ showcase a different facet of ITZY?
Lia: The music blends Afrobeats and Hip Hop, which is a notable shift for us since we haven’t danced or sung to those styles before, though we really wanted to. The concept embodies a strong commitment to our growth and reveals a more evolved or mature side of ITZY.
How did you express that maturity?
Ryujin: I believe our group's energy naturally matures over time. It feels different from when we were in our ‘Dalla Dalla’ or ‘Icy’ periods. However, we aimed to come across as very energetic, so we tried a fresh vibe with ‘TUNNEL VISION.’

The EP features experimental industrial beats; what was it like to work with them?
Lia: It was incredibly enjoyable and exciting. The music video showcases distinct techniques and special effects we hadn't explored before. During our dance performances, we have many dancers with us, creating a different atmosphere compared to when it’s just the five of us, adding to the overall charisma. Our fans will definitely appreciate it.
What was the experience like on set during the music video shoot?
Yeji: We traveled to Prague for the music video and trailer shoot. This marked our second international music video shoot, as ‘Girls Will Be Girls’ was filmed abroad as well. The location gives off a fresh vibe and mood, which really helps us embody the concept.
‘TUNNEL VISION’ evokes various sensations, both opening and restricting them… how did you achieve this feeling with the EP?
Ryujin: Through the choreography and visuals, there are many movements that embody the sensations of closing and opening, which will be impactful and interesting for fans to watch.

There is a notable variety of beats and productions in this EP, particularly the video game-inspired ‘8-BIT HEART’… How was it to perform?
Lia: Thank you! ‘8-Bit’ is one of our favorite tracks on the album. Performing it was really fun because it required us to act and sing in ways we usually don't. It was a really enjoyable experience and reminded me of the movie Wreck-It Ralph, which I really loved.
Additionally, the EP includes ‘Flicker,’ which features a UK Garage sound… What drew you to this sound?
Yeji: The moment we heard it, we knew our fans would love it. We appreciated the laid-back vibe of this song. It's a nice contrast to the title track, which is something to look forward to.
You performed with Emma Bunton and Mel B on Apple TV+’s KPOPPED… what was that experience like?
Yuna: It was a true honor to share the stage with the Spice Girls. The energy we felt working with them was amazing.
Ryujin: We gained so much from collaborating with them, as they have excellent stage presence and were incredibly kind. We are very grateful, as we admire them as major pop superstars, so it was a remarkable experience.
Did you grow up listening to their music?
Lia: Yes, we all grew up enjoying their songs, so being on the same stage as them was incredible, especially since I got my vinyl signed. We’ve naturally listened to their music since we were young, making it a dream come true and a great learning opportunity.
Absolutely! It's fantastic that you got your vinyl signed too!

This is your third release of the year. How do you sustain this work ethic?
Chaeryeong: Our biggest motivation comes from MIDZY’s support and love, which encourages us to give our best.
Are there plans for a tour? If so, how excited are you to perform these new songs live?
Ryujin: We’re confident that MIDZY will support everything we bring forth. We felt assured while creating this album and concept, and we’re eager to showcase what we’ve prepared.
