No matter our means of earning a living, every choice involves a degree of sacrifice, and this song reflects the importance of recognizing where our allegiance should lie.

“We’re told that structure brings safety,” ANT ENOCH remarks, “yet many of us feel we are losing something essential along the way.”

This struggle between comfort and collapse resonates throughout “9INE to 5IVE” – a stunning, invigorating anthem for the modern burnout generation. It's both glitchy and beautiful, cinematic and purging: A track that buzzes with energy while delving deep into the human experience. ANT ENOCH showcases his most daring and expansive work yet, transforming existential weariness into a captivating act of rebellion.

Released in September 2025 and first performed live at Hamburg’s Reeperbahn Festival, “9INE to 5IVE” marks a new chapter for the Berlin-based Australian artist. Penned and produced in London with Chris Hyson (Jordan Rakei, Frida Touray) and mixed by TJ Allen (Portishead, Bat for Lashes), this track follows last year's debut EP Big Talk Big Party (recognized as one of Atwood’s Best EPs of 2024) and encapsulates the raw energy of a live band within a rich electronic landscape. With driving synths, powerful drums, and mesmerizing bass lines underpinning ENOCH's soul-stirring vocals, it blurs the boundaries between submission and resistance.

“It’s about questioning the expectations in our lives,” he notes. “We’re told that structure brings safety, but many of us feel we’re sacrificing something vital in the process. It’s about taking time for ourselves and resisting hustle culture.”

That spirit of resistance symbolizes the essence of “9INE to 5IVE.” It serves as a poignant anthem advocating for self-worth over societal expectations, reflecting the struggle between fear and belief, chaos and clarity. "At its core, it’s about self-worth and freedom,” he explains. “It acknowledges the conflict between what’s anticipated of me and what I truly wish to dedicate my life to. There’s frustration, yet also faith and a quiet defiance.” The outcome is a euphoric melancholy—music that moves in darkness while inviting introspection.

“Big Talk Big Party represented my emergence as a solo artist,” ENOCH shares. “It possesses intimacy and emotion, heavily rooted in indie-electronic balladry. ‘9INE to 5IVE’ is more audacious and cinematic. A larger, more electronic sound infused with the live energy I've sought for my performances.” This evolution feels natural for an artist who describes his music as “songs that live in the space between the club and the confessional.” Few can adeptly balance euphoria and vulnerability like he does – a unique ability to invoke tears, dancing, and deep breaths all at once.

As he gears up for his next album—crafted in Berlin, recorded in London, and destined for global stages—ANT ENOCH stands on the brink of his most ambitious phase yet. “I hope listeners feel seen in their struggles and find inspiration to construct the life they truly desire,” he reflects. “To pause, observe the birds, and heed a gentle voice that shares a soft truth.” “9INE to 5IVE” embodies that subtle voice in motion—the sound of an artist seeking authenticity in a world that relentlessly demands more.

With “9INE to 5IVE,” ANT ENOCH strides confidently into his next chapter, delivering both a reckoning and a release—a vision of liberation and faith intertwined with the rhythm of reinvention, and an exhilarating glimpse of what lies ahead. He converts the burdens of the contemporary world into movement, meaning, and something profoundly transcendent and absorbing.
