Yellow Days Reveals Upcoming Album 'Rock and a Hard Place'

      The lost years in fruition…

British singer-songwriter and producer Yellow Days has unveiled his new single ‘Sharon’, taken from his upcoming album ‘Rock and a Hard Place’, set to release on February 13th through Independent Co.

Yellow Days, whose real name is George van den Broek, described ‘Sharon’ as: “This song is ultimately about a friend supporting you during difficult times. They quietly encourage you to follow your heart and not be sidetracked by the complexities surrounding you. It’s about a friend who believes in you amidst your chaotic life.”

Across 14 tracks, the multi-instrumentalist thrives in an unpredictable environment, drawing inspiration from both the past and present as he reemerges as Yellow Days.

The creative journey saw Yellow Days collaborate with a jazz fusion band from Newcastle to help realize his vision. The work has a vintage feel, highlighted by the Ed Sullivan Show-inspired backdrop of Clint Frift’s video for ‘Sharon’ and the clear influences of Ray Charles throughout.

Yellow Days views the time between his 2020 release, ‘A Day in a Yellow Boat’, and the new album as his life’s ‘lost years’; however, he believes this period was essential for his transformation.

“That lost time was crucial. I used that time to really hone my playing and singing. To me, it all feels worthwhile,” he reflects.

      Tune in now.
