Converge Reveals Upcoming Album 'Love Is Not Enough'

Converge, the punk legends, will unveil their new album ‘Love Is Not Enough’ on February 13th.

This upcoming LP marks the band's eleventh studio release and arrives two decades after their influential debut ‘Jane Doe’.

Set for release on February 13th, it showcases the band members – vocalist/lyricist Jacob Bannon, guitarist/producer Kurt Ballou, bassist/vocalist Nate Newton, and drummer Ben Koller – as they once again shatter conventions.

Combining feral post-hardcore with unconventional sounds, ‘Love Is Not Enough’ features no guest appearances or studio enhancements, allowing imperfections to blend into the overall experience.

Bannon says, “I feel that realism is absent in much of today's music across all genres, particularly ours. It swings between being extremely raw and nearly chaotic to the point of being distracting, or bands strip the life out of their recordings by overly editing everything. Sometimes, the most perfect take is one that carries some unpredictability. It's not flawlessly executed. This record contains many powerful and furious moments. The realism heightens that.”

Hen Ogledd will unveil their new album ‘DISCOMBOBULATED’ on February 20th.

This quartet brings together talented artists from various backgrounds, with Dawn Bothwell, Rhodri Davies, Richard Dawson, and Sally Pilkington collaborating in a freeform yet cohesive manner.

The new album has emerged, with sessions for ‘DISCOMBOBULATED’ recorded alongside producer Sam Grant at Blank Studios in Newcastle.

Scheduled for release on February 20th through Weird World, Hen Ogledd – derived from the Welsh phrase for ‘The Old North’ – seems to create something greater than merely the sum of its individual components. “There’s something about Hen Ogledd that’s not like a typical band,” remarks Richard Dawson. “It’s something… different.”

The new track ‘Scales will fall’ is captivating – a highly organic song that skillfully navigates the edges of folk, post-punk, and post-rock, while resisting confinement to any specific genre.

Referencing the Durham Miner’s Gala before evolving into a horn-infused rhythm, ‘Scales will fall’ genuinely takes listeners on an adventure.

“Perhaps Hen Ogledd is more like a family than a band,” shares Sally Pilkington. “There’s something quite special about incorporating children’s voices into the music.”

Tracklisting:
1. Nell’s prologue
2. Scales will fall
