Nas and DJ Premier are set to launch their highly anticipated collaborative album ‘Light-Years’ next month.
The rapper from Queens is a pivotal figure in the advancement of hip-hop, and his work in the 21st century features a remarkable collaboration with Hit-Boy. The music they produced arguably harkens back to Nas’ roots, with the ‘King’s Disease’ and ‘Magic’ trilogies showcasing material that can compete with his 90s high points.
As part of Mass Appeal’s Legend Has It… series of major releases, the new album ‘Light-Years’ features Nas alongside legendary hip-hop producer DJ Premier.
DJ Premier, for his part, comes with an impressive background – as one half of Gangstarr, he also contributed production to Nas’ groundbreaking debut album ‘Illmatic’ (among many other accolades).
