Today, the team behind Together For Palestine – the sold-out concert at Wembley that generated over £2 million in September – has announced the release of a charity single titled ‘Lullaby’, set to launch on December 12th in collaboration with T4P and EMPIRE.
This impactful reimagining of a traditional Palestinian lullaby features more than 15 artists from the UK and Palestine, uniting to convey a message of hope and solidarity to the birthplace of the Christmas story. Together For Palestine has a courageous goal: to secure the Christmas #1 spot and raise essential, life-saving funds for the children of Gaza and Palestinians affected by the ongoing conflict and genocide.
The new single, produced by Benji B, Kieran Brunt, and Henri Davies, mixed by David Wrench and Valgeir Sidurðsson, and mastered by Matt Colton, was arranged and reinterpreted by Kieran Brunt and Nai Barghouti, with English lyrics crafted by Peter Gabriel.
The track features contributions from Amena, Brian Eno, Celeste, Dan Smith (Bastille), Kieran Brunt (Shards), Lana Lubany, Leigh-Anne, the London Community Gospel Choir (LCGC), Mabel, Nadine Shah, Nai Barghouti, Neneh Cherry, Sura Abdo, TYSON, Yasmeen Ayyashi, and Ysee.
The official artwork for the single was created by the visionary Gazan artist Malak Mattar, inspired by her piece ‘Shelter’, with additional designs by Cameron JL West. The song also incorporates lyrics influenced by the renowned Palestinian poet and author Mahmoud Darwish and is based on an original concept by Es Devlin.
‘Lullaby’ is a heartfelt reinterpretation of ‘Yamma Mweel El Hawa’ [Mama, sing to the wind], a classic Palestinian song that expresses love, longing, and resilience, still resonant in weddings, public spaces, and TikTok across the region. It conveys themes of family love and loss, along with a yearning for homeland and liberation from occupation. The recurring “Yamma” (Mother) echoes the final phone calls, hospitals, and funerals marked by the cries of “Yamma” in sorrow and grief.
Regarding the single, Palestinian musician Nai Barghouti shares: “This lullaby from our Palestinian musical heritage has accompanied me since childhood. Today, it returns at a crucial time as a reminder of what Palestinians will never lose: hope, defiance, beauty, and dignity.” Brian Eno adds: “After a year of unimaginable loss, grief, and injustice, we aim to conclude with an expression of love for Palestine’s children. LULLABY captures their beauty, longing, and hope. If we unite and download it, we have a genuine opportunity to achieve Christmas No. 1 – and transform that moment into essential life-saving support for families in Gaza.”
Supporters are encouraged to pre-order the single (available on all platforms, including BandCamp, iTunes, and Amazon), as every purchase directly contributes funds to important organizations and assists in promoting the song towards Christmas #1. Bandcamp and iTunes also enable users to buy the song as a gift – allowing fans to share this beautiful single widely – it’s a perfect gift for the season.
All proceeds from the release will benefit Choose Love’s Together For Palestine Fund, which supports three Palestinian-led organizations: Taawon, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, and Palestine Medical Relief Service.
