Scheduled for release on March 20th,
Nubiyan Twist will launch their new album ‘Chasing Shadows.’
The band’s previous work, the 2024 album ‘Find Your Flame,’ marked a continuation of their journey—a series of afro-centric, club-inspired reflections that showcased a new eclectic high point for the versatile group.
‘Chasing Shadows’ will be available on March 20th through Strut, with an impressive tracklist featuring numerous notable artists. Nubiyan Twist collaborates with both familiar faces and emerging talent, including Fatoumata Diawara, Joe Armon-Jones from Ezra Collective, the illustrious Patrice Rushen, and Bootie Brown from The Pharcyde.
The album is up for pre-order, and is introduced by the uplifting new single ‘Azimuth.’
The track highlights some of the band’s signature elements—intense electronics, afrobeat rhythms, and powerful, soulful vocals—making ‘Azimuth’ an ideal anthem for their live performances.
Band leader Tom Excell shared: “We aimed to create something that feels joyous and intrinsically human—something that only exists through the connection between people. An AI could quickly compose a fugue, but it can’t replicate the chemistry and spontaneity that arise when musicians come together. ‘Chasing Shadows’ represents our commitment to preserving that.”
Tune in now.
