The producer from Stuttgart unveils his most ambitious project so far.
MONKyMAN has released his new album ‘What About Love’ through Laut & Luise.
Offering a vibrant, groove-driven collection, the Berlin-based musician taps into his musical essence. The highlight track ‘Better in Love’ exemplifies this, sitting comfortably between club dancefloors and more intimate listening environments. With a lush, glimmering production, the song explores cross-genre innovation, blending jazzy keys with Afro-infused rhythms and soulful vocal excerpts.
Having spent his formative years in Namibia, MONKyMAN discovered his musical talent at the age of fourteen when he first encountered Fruity Loops. Since then, he has made a name for himself internationally, performing live across South Africa, New York, Thailand, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Norway, Denmark, and Paris.
‘What About Love’ clearly marks the beginning of a new chapter, showcasing MONKyMAN’s diverse influences.
Regarding the track, the artist remarks:
“‘Better In Love’ has been with me since 2019 – it originated as a simple jam created from loops that I showcased live at the end of each performance. Over the years, it has accompanied me through numerous festivals and countries, constantly adapting and evolving.
When I made the decision to include it on the album, it finally transformed into a complete song, marking a conclusion to the entire journey. The message is straightforward: navigating life with love feels far better than doing so with hate, greed, or envy. Some may view that as cliché, but it rings true. ‘Better In Love’ concludes the album just as it has always wrapped up my live sets: as a reminder that love is indeed the force that unites us all.”
