YARD has returned with an exciting new release, ‘EP #2’.

Capping off a remarkable series of releases this year, the Dublin group has once again achieved outstanding results. Highlighted by the lead single ‘Friction,’ the band showcases a raw, post-punk energy, emphasizing their prowess in atmospheric, unconventional productions. The project delves into anxiety, hypochondria, and the physical self, reminiscent of the intense sounds of Death Grips, SUUNS, and Nine Inch Nails, crafted at Yellow Door Music Studios.

‘EP #2’ is a follow-up to YARD’s self-titled debut, which gained new audiences in May. Released through Dinked Edition, the band has revealed a double-sided 12” vinyl featuring exclusive artwork, a signed print, and a unique color variant, set to be released at the beginning of 2026.

Regarding ‘Friction,’ the group states: “Thematically, ‘Friction’ addresses the concept of social battery burnout and the feeling of disconnection from those around you. The lyrics stem from snippets I've overheard during nights out and reflections on why you find yourself in specific situations. As you question your environment and feel increasingly isolated, you still feel compelled to reach out and remain engaged. This conflicting mindset ultimately leads to a breakdown, as neither thought pattern can satisfy the other, creating internal friction.”
