The Last Dinner Party knows how to work hard. Over the span of two years, they have released two albums—one reaching Number One and the other Number Two—while participating in numerous festivals, showcase events, support tours, and headlining shows. As they put it, it’s been quite the journey.

Tonight commemorates all of that and more. The Last Dinner Party wraps up their latest—and largest—UK tour with two performances at the iconic O2 Academy Brixton, a distinguished venue in London. Their indie rock is the epitome of theatricality, their pop has a sharp edge, and their songwriting is exceptionally entertaining, reinforcing their status as one of the most remarkable success stories in British music.

The performance kicks off with ‘Agnus Dei’ and transitions into ‘Count The Ways’, delivering a powerful and visceral show. The polished, tour-tested arrangements highlight the band's strengths—Georgia Davies’ deep basslines, Emily Roberts’ incredible guitar work, the richness brought by Aurora Nishevci, and the raw allure of Lizzie Mayland. Frontwoman Abigail Morris is a vibrant presence throughout—she embodies a continuous surge of energy, oscillating between Freddie Mercury-level exuberance and genuinely humble, heartfelt expressions of appreciation for the audience.

The setlist is a perfect blend of the standout tracks from their two studio albums, featuring highlights like the upbeat ‘Big Dog’ and the celebratory, lush ‘Nothing Matters’, an infectious earworm that seems to grow more charming with each rendition.

Just before ‘On Your Side’, Abigail Morris takes a moment to connect with the audience. She reminisces about their early days performing at the nearby Brixton Windmill, where they had just a handful of songs. “We had five songs and a dream,” she quips with a smile. “And some ball gowns.”

Despite their rapid ascent, the essence of The Last Dinner Party remains—their bold, flamboyant, theatrical pop music embraces its independence and continues to be an unstoppable force.
