My Bloody Valentine will perform at London's Royal Albert Hall next year in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The Teenage Cancer Trust has a long-standing partnership with the iconic venue, hosting an annual concert series there. Previous events were managed by Roger Daltrey, the renowned lead singer of The Who, who has now stepped down.
In 2026, Robert Smith will curate the Teenage Cancer Trust shows and the first acts have been announced.
A special comedy night is scheduled for March 24th, featuring some of Smith's favorite comedians: Maisie Adam, Bridget Christie, Jack Dee, Andy Hamilton, Dom Joly, Miles Jupp, Athena Kugblenu, Stewart Lee, and Dara Ó Briain.
Additionally, there will be a headline performance from Elbow, the return of Garbage, and a unique show from some noise rock legends.
Indeed, My Bloody Valentine is set to play at the Royal Albert Hall. This is quite significant, as the influential shoegaze band recently completed a successful arena tour— their first in ten years.
Clash reviewed My Bloody Valentine’s performance at OVO Wembley Arena in London, noting:
"35 years later, devoid of context, it’s evident that volume serves almost as an instrument in its own right for My Bloody Valentine, a form of communication that ignites new ideas. The audience is incredibly diverse—ranging from social media-savvy youths to older gentlemen who witnessed their original performances—and there’s a feeling that the essence of this music is just beginning to flourish, even now. As always, speculation abounds about new material, but for the time being, the classic songs are more than sufficient. Just remember to bring earplugs."

The concert on March 27th will feature support from CHVRCHES, with the Scottish band sharing:
"We are truly honored to be part of this fantastic lineup of shows, and to support Robert and the Teenage Cancer Trust. This will be CHVRCHES' first show since 2023, and it’s a bit different from our usual performances, making it even more special."
Tickets will be available for purchase starting at 9 AM on Friday, December 12th.
