The Lightning Kids Illuminate with Their Dream Pop Album ‘Love On The Edge of Desire’

Cinematic indie rock infused with soft pop elements...

London-based trio The Lightning Kids have released their new album ‘Love On The Edge Of Desire’.

Now available, the album succeeds their 2022 debut ‘All Of Those Nights’ and showcases a band that has evolved and enriched their sound. Although it is conceptually a dream pop album, it possesses a cinematic quality, evoking imagery similar to that of Hollywood director John Hughes.

It draws comparisons to Beach House or Tennis, with its refined 80s tones bringing vibrancy and subtlety to their indie rock foundation.

The record seamlessly transitions from the poignant tones of ‘Wait’ and ‘(Fall)’ to the anthemic energy of ‘Radio’.

In a statement, The Lightning Kids shared:

“The LP is our tribute to late-night drives in the dark accompanied by a cinematic soundtrack influenced by Americana-rock FM radio and 80s-inspired pop music. It’s about discovering oneself through music, teenage longing, and heartbreak.”
