My Satellite Releases Psychedelic Masterpiece ‘Person’

LA outfit My Satellite has released their new album ‘Person’ in its entirety.

Formed in 2009, the group combines indie rock song structures with captivating psychedelic effects. While at times their music offers a fully immersive lysergic experience, My Satellite also knows when to prioritize immediacy, often incorporating catchy pop melodies.

Sometimes likened to Tame Impala or the UK's Glass Animals, My Satellite alternates between energetic, dynamic songwriting and more expansive song structures.

The new album ‘Person’ continues their exploration, presenting a narrative cycle centered around a relationship and its evolution over time. By playing with themes of time, perception, and storytelling, the album shifts between different perspectives, allowing the narrative to unfold gradually.

Filled with excitement, ‘Person’ showcases the vibrant richness in My Satellite’s music. In introducing the record, the LA band shares…

About two years after the release of our previous album ‘LIFT’, we aimed to take our sound into new and unexplored territory. We set out to create the psychedelic album we would want to listen to—an album that would resonate with others like the works of Stevie Wonder, Radiohead, and Tame Impala have with us.

We focused on crafting the ideal bass line and drum groove, embraced maximalism at times, and weren’t afraid of pushing boundaries or being unconventional. Most importantly, we aspired to create a cohesive piece of art that transcends its individual elements. Over eight years, we wrote, refined, remixed, and perfected a version that we are incredibly proud of.

‘PERSON’ is an unpredictable, psychedelic journey that explores the highs and lows of a relationship’s birth and demise. It is an experience that, much like a relationship itself, leaves you changed yet intact, moved to a different place than where you began.

      Tune in now.
