Canadian rapper AR Paisley has released his new single ‘G-Shock’ today, featuring collaborator Lazyeye, available through 91 North Records.
An homage to West Coast rap, ‘G-Shock’ showcases the rapper's journey through fiery verses that narrate his beginnings and rise. As part of a pioneering group of South Asian rappers and producers gaining prominence, AR Paisley reflects on his childhood memories of buying G-Shock watches at the mall, contrasting those modest purchases with the luxuries he's attained as an adult.
‘G-SHOCK’ follows last year's all-Asian collaborative project ‘East To West’ with Chani Nattan and Inderpal Moga, which included a viral performance on On The Radar. In 2023, AR Paisley was recognized as the Hip Hop/Rap Artist of the Year at Canadian Music Week. His recent works include a track titled ‘Drippy’ with the late Sidhu Moose Wala, which garnered over 15 million views within a week and reached the top ten of the Canadian Billboard Hot 100.
