Bonneville returns with their new single "Lady Of The Tennessee."
The songwriting duo has long shown a deep appreciation for Southern culture, highlighting the influence of Stax Records and the work accomplished at Muscle Shoals. The forthcoming album "Flying Machine" – a sequel to their highly praised self-titled debut – emerged from a journey to the South, where they fully engaged with the musicianship and culture they cherish.
The new single "Lady of The Tennessee" clearly illustrates this connection – from its title, it seeks to fuse Southern influences with their own unique sound, resulting in something both powerful and raw, yet rich in soul.
"This song represents our journey to Muscle Shoals and captures our experiences creating music there so far. We genuinely believe Muscle Shoals is a magical place. Personally, I can't recall a time in my life, in terms of songwriting and creativity, where I have felt as inspired as I have since we embraced Muscle Shoals as our musical home," states guitarist, songwriter, and co-producer Jeff Hayashi.
Bandmate and lead vocalist Wes McGee adds, "Some places simply feel like home, even if it's your very first visit. Muscle Shoals is that place for us."
Released now, "Lady of The Tennessee" serves as the ideal introduction to their upcoming album – check it out below.
