The complete band line-up for this summer's Oasis reunion has [NOT] been verified.
Last year, the iconic Manchester band announced their reunion plans, putting an end to months of speculation. At that time, Oasis stated:
“The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”
Almost right away, fans began to speculate about the line-up. Initially, it appeared that Noel and Liam Gallagher would be the only original members, with the live performances drawing from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
Now, NME reports that sources close to the band have confirmed the full line-up for the reunion shows, which features a blend of old and new members.
Joining on drums is the highly experienced Joey Waronker. Renowned for his work with Beck, Roger Waters, and last year's shows alongside Liam Gallagher and John Squire, he is a versatile collaborator and respected drummer.
Andy Bell returns to play bass. The English musician became part of the band at the turn of the millennium, later following Liam Gallagher into Beady Eye. More recently, he has led a successful Ride reunion, and his solo work—under his own name and the electronic project GROK—has received much praise.
Gem Archer is back on guitar. He joined the band after ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’ and spent a decade touring with Oasis until their unfortunate breakup in Paris.
Also on guitar, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs will help lead the Oasis reunion. A key member of their original legendary line-up, he remains a fan favorite and has supported Liam Gallagher during his extensive solo tours.
So that's the update. For additional insights, check out NME.
Oasis will begin their reunion shows in Cardiff on July 4th—be here now.
UPDATE:
It seems we can disregard the previous information. Liam Gallagher, who likely knows the ins and outs of the Oasis line-up, has brushed off NME’s report as mere speculation and has asked the publication to clarify their sources.
He followed up with a humorous tweet about a possible line-up, proposing that each Oasis drummer take on different instruments, indicating that the band is not yet ready to reveal these details.
