Cecilie Bahnsen and The North Face Kick Off an Adventure with Their First Collaboration

Cecilie Bahnsen and The North Face Kick Off an Adventure with Their First Collaboration

Cecilie Bahnsen and The North Face are highlighting the nuances of nature and high fashion in their inaugural collection, fostering a harmonious blend of the two.

Established in 2015, Cecilie Bahnsen’s namesake brand delves into femininity through its Scandinavian heritage, crafting voluminous shapes with a subtle minimalist approach. Influenced by her experiences at couture houses in Paris, Bahnsen incorporates traditional techniques into each creation, emphasizing premium fabrics, longevity, and craftsmanship. A sense of playfulness is also central to the Copenhagen designer's vision, fostering a collaborative spirit that encourages the exchange of fresh ideas among like-minded artists.

Currently, Cecilie Bahnsen considers The North Face's slogan ‘Never Stop Exploring’ and ventures into the picturesque Fontainebleau landscape, testing seven unique pieces alongside the brand's top athletes. Through a series of matte-black bags, jackets, and footwear, the campaign showcases each model in action, featuring 2024 Olympic silver medalist Brooke Raboutou, 2020 Olympic commentator and five-time UK national climbing champion Molly Thompson-Smith, and pro climber Solenne Piret as they climb boulders and navigate through light rain.

This collaboration also pays tribute to the late Ingrid Harshbarger, who conceived the original Mountain Dress and was part of The North Face’s first design team. Harshbarger’s work is now reinterpreted with a romantic touch, preserving its functional intent while incorporating Cecilie’s signature elements, from the 3D flower appliqué to the label’s light movement and scalloped hems.

First hinted at during her SS25 runway show, Cecilie Bahnsen shares her own perspective on the collaboration: “I’ve always cherished how women worldwide style my designs in their unique ways, and this collaboration enhances that essence.” She adds, “The North Face’s technical proficiency not only complements my creations but also enhances their wearability—effortless, functional, and suitable for everyday life.”

Founded in 1966, The North Face has consistently demonstrated itself as a brand for adventurers, designed for those willing to embrace the unfamiliar. This latest collection embodies the brand’s courageous spirit and will be available on Thursday, March 13th, through select retail locations, thenorthface.com, and cecilibahnsen.com.
