French-Korean singer, songwriter, and producer spill tab has released ‘Assis’, a bilingual, groove-infused track that provides further insight into her eagerly awaited debut album ‘ANGIE’. Collaborating with John Hill (known for work with FKA Twigs and Charli XCX) and Solomonophic (who has worked with SZA, Lola Young, and Remi Wolf), this song becomes the second single from the album, set to be released on May 16th through Because Music. “The production for ‘Assis’ feels like a blend of a 1950s Italian film soundtrack and psychedelic rock,” spill tab, whose real name is Claire Chicha, explained. “The song depicts witnessing someone you love distancing themselves from you in slow motion. You attempt to reconcile the beautiful, intimate moments with the painful ones, as ultimately you desire no one else.” Although ‘ANGIE’ will be spill tab’s first full-length release, it has been a project in development for a while; her debut EP ‘Oatmilk’ was released in 2020, followed by ‘Bonnie’ in 2021 and ‘Klepto’ in 2023.
