Ain't Conjure Releases Nostalgic 90s Alt-Rock Single 'Pirouette'

Catch them on tour this Spring...

South London band Ain’t has dropped their new single ‘Pirouette’.

The group has performed numerous shows throughout the city, with buzz building around each performance. Their earlier singles ‘Oar’ and ‘Teething’ were released last summer, and Ain’t is now heading back on tour in support of the American band THUS LOVE.

They are set to perform at The Great Escape and Dot To Dot, and will also headline a show in London at the Waiting Room on June 12th.

The new single ‘Pirouette’ is impressive – reinterpreting 90s alt-rock elements, their catchy melodies stand out. It’s perfect for cheerful Spring days, as Ain’t leaves the production slightly rough around the edges, giving the song a DIY feel.

Accompanied by a VHS-style home video, ‘Pirouette’ sees the band reaching new heights.

      Guitarist/vocalist George Ellerby shares...

I wrote ‘Pirouette’ during a transformative time: a relationship had recently ended, I was dating someone who seemed quite indifferent, and I was moving through unstable flat shares. Throughout this, it felt as though the band was also anticipating and experiencing change. At that stage, the full lineup of Ain’t was coming together. When I began writing ‘Pirouette’, it was just Ed, Jeevan, and me; by the time we reached the practice room, Joe, Hanna, and Chapman had joined. All of this culminated in the inspiration for the song’s lyrics. I felt like I was on the brink of something new and yearning for it, yet I still had parts of my past holding on. ‘Pirouette’ reflects the monotony of breakups and the sluggishness that can accompany dating, but I believe it’s infused with a sense of something overwhelmingly hopeful and exhilarating coming together.

      Tune in now.
