The companion EP ‘More’ continues in the vein of last year’s ‘Model’, primarily highlighting the fusion of pop, alt-rock, and post-punk that defines Wallows’ unique sound. The synth-laden track ‘Not Alone’ pays homage to ‘80s new wave; ‘Deep Dive’ combines electronic and indie elements while showcasing clever lyrics; ‘Coffin Change’ reflects back to The Strokes’ early works; and ‘Your New Favourite Song’ surprises with a saxophone introduction and mellow vocals, marking an unexpected yet pleasant shift. Spanning 17 minutes without a dull moment, ‘More’, similar to its full-length predecessor, encapsulates Wallows’ distinctive traits while also suggesting potential directions for the Los Angeles-based group’s future endeavors.
