Hayden Pedigo Reveals Upcoming Album ‘I’ll Be Waving As You Drive Away’

      08 · 04 · 2025

Hayden Pedigo is set to release a new album titled ‘I’ll Be Waving As You Drive Away’.

The fingerstyle guitarist’s 2023 release ‘The Happiest Times I Ever Ignored’ marked a turning point in his career, leading to a viral NPR Tiny Desk session and a series of live performances.

Returning to the creative process, the Texas-born and Oklahoma City-based artist developed the album during an artistic residency at a secluded farm in Wyoming.

It was later recorded in Ojai with Scott Hirsch. The album ‘I’ll Be Waving As You Drive Away’ takes its name from a particularly “devastating” episode of Little House on the Prairie from 1978.

A UK headline tour is on the horizon, and Hayden Pedigo has introduced a striking new song, ‘Long Pond Lily’.

“It’s very heavy and huge,” he describes the track. “The low end is rattling — it sounds wild and feels like it’s on the brink of going off the rails. It’s incredibly expansive and far more energetic than anything I’ve created before.”

The whimsical and surreal music video was directed by Matt Muir – take a look below.

Don’t miss Hayden Pedigo on his UK tour this summer, starting at London’s Kings Place on August 26th.
