The iconic UK band Stereolab is set to release their first album in 15 years this May.

The group rose from the remnants of indie pop stalwarts McLusky, before incorporating analogue electronics, Krautrock, and various unconventional sounds. With a captivating discography, Stereolab's music has demonstrated significant lasting impact.

Recently, it appeared that the band was hinting at their comeback. A surprise seven-inch record was mailed to fans, along with a word search and a fill-in-the-blanks press release.

In a typically whimsical manner, the clues seem to be accurate: Stereolab is indeed making a return.

Their new album ‘Instant Holograms On Metal Film’ marks the end of a 15-year hiatus and will be released on May 23rd via Duophonic UHF Disks / Warp.

The album includes contributions from Cooper Crain and Rob Frye (Bitchin Bajas), Ben LaMar Gay (International Anthem), Ric Elsworth, Holger Zapf (Cavern Of Anti-Matter), Marie Merlet, and Molly Hansen Read.
