The new single 'Mosh Pit' is available now...
Scottish songwriter Katie Gregson-Macleod has announced her upcoming EP titled ‘Love Me Too Well, I’ll Retire Early’.
Having recently made her comeback with the single ‘Teenage Love’, the artist from the Highlands is returning to her roots with this new intimate EP.
The recording sessions for ‘Love Me Too Well, I’ll Retire Early’ took place at Edwyn Collins’ studio in Helmsdale, where she worked closely with her friend Josh Scarbrow.
After spending time in London, returning to the Highlands helped restore balance to her life. Katie stated: “This project celebrates the small things, as that was how I best understood love and music at that time.”
The new single ‘Mosh Pit’ is stunning, featuring little more than skillful acoustic guitar riffs and her soothing vocals, culminating in a flourish of fiddle.
Katie shares her thoughts: “I started writing ‘Mosh Pit’ following a Tigercub concert in Islington. Love doesn’t always lead to grand proclamations or emotional confessions in the way heartache does for me. I could create entire albums attempting to express the feelings from this relationship in dramatic terms, but honestly, all I need to grasp it for myself is imagining ‘my dress on your washing line’.”
