The songwriter spent 2024 touring, with standout moments including a notable collaboration with American artist Clairo. Alice Phoebe Lou’s path has taken her from South Africa to Berlin and beyond, refining her musical style along the way.
Now officially signed to Nettwerk Music Group, Alice Phoebe Lou is launching this new phase of her artistic career with ‘You And I’.
Musically, it’s a track that reflects her foundational essence – a straightforward love song, featuring a heartfelt performance that calls back to her days as a busker.
Coming directly from her heart, ‘You And I’ is presented in its raw form, which enhances its emotional impact. She shares...
“‘You and I’ speaks of desire and surrender in love; it’s a confession and a prayer, a statement of our current place and where we aspire to be, encouraging us to stop holding back and explore everything together,” she explains. “It invites the other person to release past experiences and be present now, dreaming of the future together. It’s about communicating our needs to one another so we can support each other in a deeper, more essential manner.”
“After releasing five band albums, I have opened my treasure trove of personal storytelling songs that I've accumulated over the last decade. These are songs that didn’t make it into previous albums, and some that I never expected would be shared. I am embarking on an exciting and courageous journey of recording these songs as they are, filled with love and playfulness, simple and authentically mine. I’m embracing imperfections while drawing inspiration from some of my greatest influences who have created timeless folk acoustic records.”
Tune in now.
