Depeche Mode Unveils Cinematic Experience 'M'

Filmed during their remarkable performances in Mexico City...

Depeche Mode has announced their upcoming cinematic project titled ‘M’.

The film, directed by the renowned Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frias, is inspired by the band's impressive Memento Mori tour.

Following the spirit of the album of the same name, the tour received widespread acclaim, as Depeche Mode revamped their visual style, connecting their rich history to a dynamic present.

European tour dates featured a spectacular night at the O2 Arena in London, while Depeche Mode also took their show to Mexico City for three nights at the Foro Sol Stadium.

Fernando Frias captured live footage and reportage from these monumental performances, attended by over 200,000 fans. The upcoming cinematic experience will present a juxtaposition between Depeche Mode's work and traditional Mexican beliefs regarding life and death.

A recognized filmmaker, Fernando Frias is celebrated for his award-winning film I'm No Longer Here, which garnered 10 Ariels at Mexico’s prestigious Ariel Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Direction.

Featuring interstitials and archival footage, ‘M’ is set to premiere in theaters worldwide later this year.
