London's non-conformist Denzel Himself has released his debut album, ‘Violator’, today through the him institute.

Since first emerging in 2018, Denzel Himself, affectionately nicknamed Goth Cowgirl, has blended the whimsical lyricism of rap with the rebellious spirit of punk and metal. ‘Violator’, a concept album, elevates this blend into a Neo-western journey that defies genre boundaries.

Primarily self-produced, ‘Violator’ serves as “a declaration of defiance, freedom, and a disciplined approach to artistic integrity and individuality.” It draws visual and musical inspiration from Tyler, The Creator, The Horrors, garage rock from the '60s, jazz, and J Dilla.

“Even though it’s my first album, I approached it with the mindset that I would be completely happy if it were my last,” says Denzel. “Every detail of every moment is *exactly* how I envisioned it. It’s me immortalized.”

Shifting between the dreamy vibe of ‘Dr. Fauci’ and the fusion of hip-hop with atonal post-hardcore in ‘Me and my Godmother’, Denzel Himself expresses his obsessions through songs that explore feelings of disconnection, the promise of love, complex relationships, decay, and desolation—all wrapped in soaring guitars, sharp beats, and a deadpan vocal style.

The album will be complemented by a series of self-directed short visuals shared across Denzel’s social media platforms.
