Slow Fiction is back with their new single ‘When’.

The New York-based band made a strong impression with their debut EP last year, establishing connections in the UK through a series of headline performances.

Soon to embark on a co-headline tour in the States with Courting, Slow Fiction has released something fresh and deeply resonant.

Available now through Speedy Wunderground, the new single ‘When’ delivers exhilarating indie rock infused with a poetic essence. The track has echoes of early PIXIES, featuring powerful drums and a groovy bass line that supports an urgent vocal from Julia Vassallo, who sings: “You are a clock without a face, You are a mouth without the taste…”

Currently available digitally, ‘When’ will have a seven-inch vinyl release on April 25th, complete with a Dan Carey dub on the B-side.

      Julia Vassallo reflects…

“I believe everyone experiences moments when the reality of the world, a relationship, or the audience you’re performing for falls short of expectations, leading to a tumultuous downward spiral. Losing faith feels incredibly desperate, similar to plummeting into a pit of snakes. The snakes all have familiar faces, and they seem to be speaking, yet their words are incomprehensible. I suppose this song is an attempt to explore that pit of disillusionment, or perhaps even find a way out of it.”

      Tune in now.
