The Cure has announced plans for a new remix album.
The band made their comeback last year with ‘Songs Of A Lost World,’ marking their first new album in ten years. Fans welcomed it with enthusiasm, celebrating the release with a memorable event at London's Troxy venue.
The journey continues. Announced during the Easter weekend, ‘Mixes Of A Lost World’ is an album-length remix project that provides new interpretations of last year’s album.
Set to be released on June 13th through Fiction/Polydor, the tracklist features several collaborators, touring partners, close friends, and long-time fans of the band.
Contributions will come from Four Tet, Paul Oakenfold, Orbital, and others, with the deluxe edition featuring extra remixes and reworks by Chino Moreno (Deftones), Mogwai, and 65daysofstatic, among others.
Available for pre-order now, The Cure will donate their royalties from this project to War Child.

JUST AFTER CHRISTMAS, I RECEIVED A FEW UNSOLICITED REMIXES OF TRACKS FROM ‘SONGS OF A LOST WORLD’ AND I LOVED THEM. THE CURE HAS A RICH HISTORY WITH VARIOUS DANCE MUSIC STYLES, AND I WAS INTRIGUED TO HEAR WHAT THE ENTIRE ALBUM WOULD SOUND LIKE WHEN REINTERPRETED BY OTHERS. THIS INQUISITIVENESS LED TO AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE WITH ALL 8 SONGS, REIMAGINED BY 24 TALENTED ARTISTS AND REMIXERS, FAR EXCEEDING MY EXPECTATIONS. DONATING OUR ROYALTIES FROM THIS PROJECT TO WAR CHILD MAKES ‘MIXES OF A LOST WORLD’ AN EVEN MORE MEANINGFUL RELEASE.
‘Mixes Of A Lost World’ will be available as deluxe editions in 3LP/3CD/3MC formats, featuring both 'Artists' and 'Remixers' tracks. The 3LP edition includes three half-speed mastered 180g heavyweight black bio vinyl records, a tri-gatefold printed sleeve, and a large foldout poster; the triple deluxe CD offers an eight-panel digi-sleeve and also includes a foldout poster; the limited edition 3MC set will feature individually printed o-cards and an obi-strip, exclusive to The Cure store.
