deadmau5 has expressed regret over his chaotic performance at Coachella.

The renowned EDM artist took the stage at the California festival on Friday (April 18th) for a notable set under his Test Pilot alias, but it did not go as intended. Many attendees found his erratic performance unsettling, as deadmau5 was seen slurring into the microphone.

During the back-to-back set with Zhu, deadmau5 ended up stumbling offstage, evidently having difficulty with his exit.

Were his actions due to intoxication? That appeared to be the consensus among those present, and deadmau5 later issued an apology for the performance.

In a social media post, the DJ mentioned that he didn’t “remember a thing.”

This performance occurred just one day after deadmau5 publicly stated his intention to quit smoking. “I don’t remember a thing,” the producer captioned a photo of a water bottle following his Coachella set. “But I don’t think I had a cig? So… that’s good, I guess? Heading back to bed. Wake me up around Thursday-ish.”

Interacting with fans in the comments, he remarked: “Probably my last Coachella show.”

Some fan-recorded footage of the performance has surfaced online.
