Squid Unveils New Single ‘The Hearth And Circle Round Fire’

      Dystopian, punk-infused noise...

UK band Squid has released a surprise new single titled ‘The Hearth And Circle Round Fire’.

The group garnered significant acclaim for their recent album ‘Cowards’ before embarking on an extensive UK tour. Their live performances continue this weekend with a major headline show at London’s iconic Roundhouse venue.

In addition, Squid is hosting a pop-up merchandise store at the nearby Colonel Fawcett pub, where they have also chosen to unveil fresh material.

Out now, ‘The Hearth And Circle Round Fire’ retains elements of the powerful essence that propelled ‘Cowards’ to prominence, employing a cut-and-paste approach as a subversive element.

The track is unified by the band's intense live energy, giving ‘The Hearth And Circle Round Fire’ a persistent punk spirit.

Vocalist and drummer Ollie Judge shares…

“‘The Hearth And Circle Round Fire’ is a punky song that came together quite effortlessly, but we felt unsatisfied with that simplicity and decided to record it as a 15-minute jam, dismantle it, and piece it back together. Lyrically, it draws inspiration from the dystopian realms of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 and Kay Dick’s They, where everyday individuals fall prey to mass censorship and propaganda, with only a handful willing to resist.”

      Tune in now.
