Honduran artist Isabella Lovestory maintains her momentum with the release of her new single ‘Telenovela’, available today.
Following her earlier single ‘Putita Boutique’, featuring Argentina’s TAICHU, and a collaboration with PinkPantheress and Shygirl on ‘True Religion’, ‘Telenovela’ combines the flamboyant and extravagant allure of Mexican soap operas with traditional reggaeton and Isabella’s passion for edgy electronics.
The music video, directed by Charlotte Rutherford, vividly illustrates Isabella’s alternate reality, blending the campiness of telenovelas with Lynchian surrealism.
In 2022, Isabella debuted her full-length album ‘Amor Hardcore’, showcasing a fusion of Spanish trap and goth electronica. 'Telenovela' and her previous singles set the stage for her upcoming album, anticipated to arrive this summer, which incorporates Y2K pop influences, synth-wave, K-pop, and boundary-pushing artists like Lady Gaga and Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth.
Announced last week, Isabella will perform at LadyLand Festival in Brooklyn at Under The K Bridge, alongside a lineup that includes FKA Twigs, Cardi B, Pablo Vittar, Eartheater, among others. Fans can also see her at Primavera Sound in Barcelona and We Love Green Festival in Paris this June.
