Emotional Oranges and JAEHYUN Collaborate on 'Call It Off'

Emotional Oranges and JAEHYUN have teamed up for their new single, ‘Call It Off’.

This mysterious R&B duo has experienced global success, with their influence reaching from Los Angeles to Seoul and back.

The creation of ‘Call It Off’ spanned over a year and was inspired by a previous collaboration. Producer Azad from Emotional Oranges worked on JAEHYUN’s track ‘Flamin’ Hot Lemon’ last year, and they have remained in contact since.

As they exchanged ideas, ‘Call It Off’ emerged from their mutual admiration for 90s music, blending dance, pop, and R&B into a unique fusion.

Azad shares, “This track gives off Popstar Papi 2stepping in Seoul vibes LOLLLL. Sending lots of love to my boy and I can't wait until he finishes his army service so we can celebrate!”

With its genre-defying rhythm that embraces creative freedom, ‘Call It Off’ sets the stage for Emotional Oranges’ upcoming album – it’s finally on the way.

The forthcoming LP, titled ‘Orenji’, thrives on contrasting elements; the duo states –

“We aimed to merge worlds that usually don’t mix or aren’t seen as complementary, creating a fresh sensation.”

'Orenji' translates to "orange" in both Korean and Japanese, highlighting the significance of these countries in the album.

“The time we've spent in Seoul and Tokyo over recent years has deeply influenced our overall tastes and inspired the album’s title and theme,” they explain. “The way these cultures embraced our music and art—sometimes more quickly than others—has always resonated with us. Ultimately, this record is lyrically centered on self-love and love for others. We simply wanted to create a collection of music that would offer hope to our younger selves.”
