Jaz Karis has unveiled her latest single, ‘Too Soon.’
The UK singer released her debut album ‘SAFE FLIGHT’ last Autumn, showcasing a genuine sense of maturity and remarkable honesty. Since then, she has taken her time to contemplate her next move, and Jaz is now prepared to announce her return.
‘Too Soon’ captures a sentiment we can all connect with – encountering the right person at an inopportune moment in our lives. This timeless R&B narrative is enriched by Jaz Karis’ unique perspective through her softly yearning lyrics.
She expresses: “I’m sorry that I met you too soon / Honey I’m sorry that there’s not enough room / Sorry I won’t ever get to say that ‘I do’ / I’ve been misty-eyed since I’ve been falling for you.”
With remarkable speed, ‘Too Soon’ was seemingly composed and recorded shortly after her final encounter with a (now ex) partner.
“‘Too Soon’ embodies the concept of ‘right person, wrong timing,’” Jaz explains. “I rushed to the studio straight from the airport, aware that it was likely one of the last moments I’d have with that person. Despite knowing it was inevitable, I still felt overwhelmed.”
“I think this has been one of the simplest songs I’ve written; it felt like pure venting. We aimed for a minimalistic production to preserve the emotions in every line – so an acoustic guitar and strings perfectly complemented my feelings.”
