Alan Sparhawk has unveiled his latest track ‘Not Broken’.
The American artist explored themes of grief in his monumental 2024 album ‘White Roses, My God’, a solo debut inspired by the loss of his wife and collaborator, Mimi Parker.
The forthcoming album ‘With Trampled By Turtles’ is aptly named – recorded with the band Trampled By Turtles, it is scheduled for release on May 30th through Sub Pop.
As Alan Sparhawk prepares for a few European performances this spring – including London’s EartH on May 29th – he has released a new preview.
‘Not Broken’ features Eamonn McLain’s haunting cello, and the arrangement grows richer as the song unfolds. The vocals come from Hollis, the daughter of Sparhawk and Parker, turning ‘Not Broken’ into a poignant reflection on loss, while also symbolizing resilience and determination.
The official video, directed by Alexa Viscius, is just as powerful as the song itself – watch ‘Not Broken’ below.
