Three years after the release of ‘Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You’, the Brooklyn trio Big Thief - comprised of Buck Meek, Adrianne Lenker, and James Krivchenia - has unveiled details about their latest studio album. The band will release their sixth full-length record, titled ‘Double Infinity’, on September 5th via 4AD. To accompany today's announcement, they have released the enchanting lead single ‘Incomprehensible’, celebrating the beauty and confusion of life and the passage of time, which you can listen to below. The album was recorded over three wintry weeks at New York’s Power Station late last year, creating a warm ambiance in contrast to the icy streets outside. The band was supported by a community of musicians - Alena Spanger, Caleb Michel, Hannah Cohen, Jon Nellen, Joshua Crumbly, June McDoom, Laraaji, Mikel Patrick Avery, and Mikey Buishas - who contributed to the album's more improvisational style. The album will feature nine tracks, and you can view the tracklisting below. ‘Double Infinity’ follows the band’s 2023 standalone singles ‘Vampire Empire’ and ‘Born For Loving You’, as well as the release of their ‘Passional Relations’ EP, which was shared earlier this year to raise funds for organizations assisting LA communities after the wildfires in January. The tracklisting for ‘Double Infinity’ is: 1. Incomprehensible 2. Words 3. Los Angeles 4. All Night All Day 5. Double Infinity 6. No Fear 7. Grandmother [ft. Laraaji] 8. Happy With You 9. How Could I Have Known. The band has also announced plans for a North American headline tour to support the album's release. Check out their upcoming shows below.
