Cate Le Bon has revealed her intention to release her seventh studio album, titled ‘Michelangelo Dying’, which will be available on 26th September. Alongside this announcement, she has introduced the lead single from the upcoming album, called ‘Heaven Is No Feeling’, accompanied by a new music video. The album reportedly delves into themes of heartache, although Le Bon aimed to steer clear of writing about love. It is said that the album seeks “to photograph a wound before it closes up — but which in doing so, picks at it too.” Below is the tracklist for ‘Michelangelo Dying’:
1. Jerome
2. Love Unrehearsed
3. Mothers of Riches
4. Is It Worth It (Happy Birthday)?
5. Pieces of My Heart
6. About Time
7. Heaven Is No Feeling
8. Body As A River
9. Ride (feat. John Cale)
10. I Know What’s Nice
In her new single, ‘Heaven Is No Feeling’, Le Bon reflects on the sorrow of a fantasy. She sings: “I see you watch me work for your slow hand / Draping my body with no rhythm just desire / The day / The night / It all ends / And you smoke our love / Like you’ve never known violence.” The song is presented with a new video directed by H. Hawkline, featuring Le Bon observing herself on a vintage television. Hawkline comments, “There are moments in life you can’t make up, that seem unfathomable, then they happen. If you were to ask me how we made this video, I couldn’t tell you. Cate watching her, watching her watching Cate. I will always feel honoured to work with Cate in whatever shape or form; it’s easy to forget how remarkable someone is when you’ve known them forever,” he adds. You can view the video for ‘Heaven Is No Feeling’ below.
