Debby Friday has unveiled her latest single, 'Lipsync'.
The Nigerian-Canadian multi-talented artist is back, with a new album titled 'The Starrr Of The Queen Of Life' set to be released later this summer.
Scheduled for release on August 1st through Sub Pop/Royal Mountain Record, the album sees Debby Friday expanding on the success of her previous works, featuring bold and lively electronics. Her songwriting is tight, powerful, yet also sultry.
“I aspire to be a starrr, and I can't suppress that ambition,” she expresses. “However, I refuse to live someone else's dream or follow a predetermined route.”
The new single 'Lipsync' makes a bold, fashion-forward declaration, with Debby Friday increasing the intensity to levels that could certainly cause steel beams to melt.
The full video, co-directed with regular collaborator Kevan Funk, features themes of “iron forged in fire” and was filmed in just 30 minutes at Toronto's historic Massey Hall.
