Unsound 2025 returns to Kraków this year, taking place from October 7 to 12.
This year's theme revolves around "WEB," which is connected to a series of autumn festivals centered in Kraków, as well as related events in Osaka and New York.
For 2025, Unsound has established a new venue at the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium, where festival attendees can experience a soundsystem, lighting, and a setup designed to create a temporary multi-room club. The lineup will feature live performances, experimental projects, and, as usual, a diverse selection of club music from around the world.
Highlighted projects for Unsound 2025 include "River of Fundament," an operatic experimental film by American artist Matthew Barney and composer Jonathan Bepler. Commissioned works will create cross-border connections, with Polish producer 2K88 collaborating with emerging UK talents Lauren Duffus, Bianca Scout, and Rainy Miller.
Japanese sound artist FUJI|||||||||||TA and American experimentalist Ka Baird will perform together at Unsound in Kraków and Osaka for the first time, as will renowned footwork producer RP Boo alongside Polish drummer Gary Gwadera.
Unsound: WEB will also showcase numerous pioneers who have influenced contemporary music, including Jim O’Rourke collaborating with Japan’s Eiko Ishibashi. Suzanne Ciani and Actress will unveil their new joint performance titled "Concrète Waves," while cult US rapper billy woods will guide us through the history and future of underground hip-hop.
This year, bands play a significant role, featuring those with highly regarded new releases: the UK octet Caroline, American experimental rock group YHWH Nailgun, Norway’s Smerz, and Moin, a fruitful collaboration between Valentina Magaletti and Raime.
Passes are available for purchase today at 3 PM through Resident Advisor. Following this, Unsound Club Passes and individual tickets will be available after the second announcement.
